John Palmer
President - Southern California Region

John Palmer is president-Southern California Region for Verizon Wireless, responsible for sales and overall company operations in the Southern California region, including markets in the five-county Greater Los Angeles area and San Diego County.

Palmer previously served as president-Upstate New York Region for Verizon Wireless, following five years as vice president of Marketing for the company’s Northeast Area, where he was responsible for all marketing activities in the Area's five regions (New England, Upstate New York, New York Metro, Philadelphia and Washington/Baltimore/Virginia), including service and equipment pricing; product development, management and delivery; and advertising.

He began his telecommunications career at New England Telephone Company, where he held a number of marketing and operational management positions. He joined NYNEX Mobile in 1989, and later held key positions in Bell Atlantic Mobile's New England Region, including executive director-Marketing, and director-Indirect Distribution.

Palmer earned a bachelor's degree in economics from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.
