Christine Baron
President - Philadelphia Tri-State Region
With over a decade of wireless sales management and operations experience, Chris has led the Philadelphia Tri-State Region to consistently stellar results in key performance measures such as subscriber growth, customer loyalty and profitability. Under her leadership, the region has been the perennial leader in market share in one of the most competitive wireless markets in the nation.
Prior to her appointment in March 2002, she was vice president of Verizon Wireless’ Northeast Area Marketing and Sales Operations, a position she held since April 2000. In this position, she was responsible for sales support for all channels in the Northeast Area’s five regions, including store expansion, relocation and merchandising, sales materials, facilities management, and training and development.
Chris joined Verizon Wireless in 1993 as an account executive in northern New Jersey, and has served in a number of sales and operational management positions, including executive director of sales and regional director of corporate accounts, both in the company’s New York Metro Region.
She leads her region in the campaign to help prevent domestic violence through the company’s HopeLine® program. Chris is a major supporter of initiatives and programs that positively impact the lives of young people and has spearheaded the annual “Packs for Pride” program for children living in domestic violence shelters in the area. In addition to the many contributions she makes related to HopeLine, she is an active member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Police Athletic League and leads Verizon Wireless’ involvement in PAL’s “Adopt-a-Center” program. Chris also serves on the board of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
In 2006, Chris was recognized as one of New Jersey's "Best 50 Women in Business," by New Jersey Business Magazine. A resident of Monmouth County, N.J., Chris holds a Bachelor or Arts degree from Thomas Edison State College.
