What is #HOPE?

#HOPE is a service available across Verizon Wireless' nationwide wireless network as part of the company's HopeLine phone recycling program. Customers simply dial #4673 from a Verizon Wireless phone then push the send key to be connected directly to the National Domestic Violence Hotline.  The Hotline provides help through empowerment-based crisis intervention, information and resources.

Why Would You Use #HOPE?

Victims of domestic violence and those looking to help them need access to resources that will provide assistance or information, quickly and safely. Verizon Wireless encourages any victim or anyone looking for information to dial #HOPE from any Verizon Wireless phone. Callers will be instantly connected to the National Domestic Violence Hotline for professional and confidential help. The call is toll and airtime free.

How Many Calls are Placed Each Year to #HOPE?

About 1,500 calls are placed to the Hotline each year using #HOPE, providing another way a wireless phone and wireless technology can be used to connect victims of domestic violence to help and information.

Why Does Verizon Wireless Offer #HOPE?

#HOPE is one initiative in Verizon Wireless' long-standing commitment to domestic violence prevention through the company's HopeLine program. #HOPE brings increased access to the National Domestic Violence Hotline and provides a valuable sense of security to those in need by enabling them to quickly and easily use their wireless phones to connect to resources for safety and independence.

Is #HOPE the Only Way to Connect to the Hotline?

No. Callers can dial the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233(SAFE) using a landline phone or TTY 1-800-787-3224.
